Shop dōTERRA Essential Oils Canada 🇨🇦

After having my first baby 20 years ago, I really began looking into the products we were using in our home, and on our bodies.
I was shocked to learn just how toxic the items are that most people use multiple times a day.
Everything from laundry soap, to fabric softeners, shampoo, soap, body wash, skin care lotions, and perfumes – toxic ingredients were lurking everywhere.
I made it my mission to clean up our home, one product at a time. Our home is now 100% toxin-free (well, as close as we can get – I can’t do much about things like building materials or furniture finishes – but all the products we use are toxin-free).
Below are the products you will find in our home.
dōTERRA Essential Oils & Natural Products
Our family has been using dōTERRA essential oils for well over a decade. I chose this brand after a great deal of research into all the different brands of essential oils on the market.
Not all essential oils are created equal - over 90% of essential oils on the market are adulterated (meaning they contain fillers, synthetics, fragrance boosters, etc - not exactly what you have in mind when choosing natural health products). Yes, even the ones who claim '100% pure' on the bottle.
I have found dōTERRA's sourcing, purity, and ethics to be second-to-none.
So much so, that I chose to become a Wellness Advocate for this company.
What this means is, if you choose to order essential oils through me, I can help guide you with getting started. You also get a free wholesale account for 1 year when you use any of my links (which means you get 25% off for a whole year, plus the option to earn points for free essential oils).
Below, I will list the essential oils & wellness products my family uses most, along with a description of how we use them.
Essential Oil Starter Kits
Essential oil starter kits are the best way to get started with essential oils.
You get bundled, high quality essential oils at a discount.
Recommended Add-Ons
There are some additional products I'd recommend adding to your starter kit, to ensure you have everything you need to get the most out of your essential oils. (You'll also see these listed under Essential Oil Accessories below).
- empty roller bottles (to make blends you can use topically)
- empty spray bottles (to make bug spray, linen spray, etc)
- bottle top stickers (makes it so much easier to find what you need when the caps of your bottles are labelled)
- fractionated coconut oil (liquid coconut oil to dilute your essential oils for safe topical use)
- fractionated coconut oil pump (makes it easier to use the oil without making a mess)
Healthy Start Kit
This is my #1 selling starter kit.
It contains 5 ml bottles of each of the top 10 essential oils, plus a diffuser!
It's a perfect way to try multiple essential oils at a lower cost. (5 ml bottles can't be purchased individually, so by getting them in this kit it's a low-cost way to start using essential oils).
The Healthy Start Kit contains:
- Frankincense
- Lavender
- Lemon
- Peppermint
- Tea Tree
- Oregano
- Breathe
- Deep Blue
- DigestZen
- OnGuard
- Pebble diffuser
Home Essentials Kit
The Home Essentials Kit contains all the same essential oils as you get in the Healthy Start Kit, but instead of the 5 ml bottles, you get full-sized, 15 ml bottles.
You also get a larger diffuser.
This is the exact kit I started with back in 2014!
The 15 ml bottles contain 250 drops of essential oils (vs 85 drops in the 5 ml bottles). Generally, 1 drop = 1 application, so each bottle gets you 250 applications of essential oils, and you get 10 different oils!
This kit costs more than the Healthy Start Kit, but it's a better value, because you get 3x the amount of essential oils, for less than 2x the price.
I chose to start with the larger kit so I would get more bang for my buck.
Remember that essential oils are extremely potent, and a little goes a long way. Some oils, like oregano oil, are so strong that you would only use them very occasionally. I'm still working on the same bottle of oregano oil more than a decade later!
Essential Oil Singles
Essential oil singles are pure, single essential oils.
These can be diffused, diluted and applied to your skin, combined into things like bug spray or lotion, added to bath salts, and so much more.
Singles are highly versatile, because essential oils can be used for multiple purposes, and you can create your own blends.
You'll notice that most of the single essential oils I've listed are the same ones that are included in the starter kits. That's because they are the most versatile and commonly used essential oils.
The kits are a fantastic value, but if you just want to dip your toes in and try a couple oils to see what you think, then these are the single oils I use most and recommend.
Frankincense
Frankincense oil is known as the King of Essential Oils, and for good reason.
A frequently used motto in the essential oil world is, "When in doubt, use frankincense". That's because it's an extremely powerful and versatile essential oil. (They didn't give it to Baby Jesus for no reason!).
Frankincense is most renowned for its ability to keep our cells healthy, and prevent cells from going rogue.
So think of frankincense oil when it comes to anything for cellular support, especially your skin.
It's also traditionally used for spiritual applications: meditation, reflection, prayer.
Uses of Frankincense Oil:
- Diffuse during reflection or meditation.
- Add to a cream or lotion or apply directly to nourish and soothe the skin
- Massage a drop into the bottoms of feet at bedtime for a centering experience.
- Apply daily to cuticles to maintain healthy-looking nailbeds.
- Add a drop to a few ounces of water and rinse to promote clean gums, mouth, and teeth
Lavender
Lavender is known as the swiss army knife of essential oils.
Similar to frankincense, it has a multitude of uses. If I had to choose just one essential oil to use for the rest of my life, it would be a toss-up between frankincense and lavender!
This is likely the most used essential oil in our home. We use it for everything from bug bites, bee stings, cuts and scrapes, to diffusing and applying topically for sleep & relaxation.
Uses of Lavender Oil:
- Add a few drops to pillows, bedding, or the bottoms of the feet at bedtime
- Apply topically to soothe skin on contact, or combine with a daily moisturizer
- Freshen your linen closet, mattress, car, or the air by combining a few drops with water in a spray bottle.
- Mix with epsom salts for the ultimate soothing relaxation bath
- Diffuse with frankincense & wild orange for a relaxing home atmosphere
Lemon
Lemon oil is another one that gets daily use at our house.
In fact, it gets used so much, it sits on our kitchen sink.
I use it to:
- clean our dry erase menu board on the fridge
- add to our natural, unscented dish soap
- remove stickers/labels/residue from jars etc
- wash anything greasy or sticky off my hands (like pine sap!)
- make our homemade all-purpose cleaning spray
- make a sink scrub out of baking soda & lemon oil
Peppermint
Peppermint oil is another one of those oils with a million uses.
Here are some of the ways we use peppermint oil:
- put on a cotton ball and stick in cupboards, drawers, closets etc to help repel mice and insects (bonus: it smells amazing!)
- add it to my homemade remineralizing tooth powder
- add it to my homemade mouthwash
- add a drop to my tongue as a breath freshener when out and about
- add it to our homemade bug spray
- diffuse it with wild orange for energizing and mood uplifting
- apply it to my temples and the back of my neck to help ease tension
Tea Tree
Tea tree is great for cleaning, and particularly for mold or fungal issues.
(Tea tree, borax, and vinegar are among the very few things that will kill mold - not even bleach kills mold!)
It's also great to have on hand if you battle headlice with your kids' schools.
Wild Orange
Citrus oils are cold pressed essential oils, derived from the peel.
Wild orange essential oil smells exactly as if you were peeling an orange! It's so refreshing.
Most citrus oils have the same properties and benefits, so you'll find it has similar uses to lemon oil, just orange-scented instead!
Wild orange oil is great for:
- making homemade cleaners
- adding to unscented dish soap
- adding to a bucket of hot soapy water to wash your floors or walls
- diffusing for its mood-uplifting benefits (pairs great with peppermint)
- removing sticky residue
Essential Oil Blends
Essential oil blends are combinations of single essential oils, blended into a mixture designated for a specific purpose.
Essential oil blends are both time-saving, and money-saving, because rather than needing to buy multiple essential oil singles to create your own blends, these ones are already combined and ready to go!
Easy Air Respiratory Blend
Breathe Respiratory Blend contains Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Lemon, Cardamom, Ravintsara, and Ravensara essential oils.
It helps open up your airways for an easy breathing experience. My husband sometimes uses it to help reduce snoring! It's also the perfect blend to use during transitional seasons when you are more prone to having detox symptoms, such as a stuffy or runny nose.
Breathe Essential Oil Uses:
- dilute and apply to chest, bottoms of feet to help open up airways
- diffuse in your bedroom to keep breathing clear all night
- apply during times of stress or when you're feeling anxious, to help you focus on your breath

OnGuard Protective Blend
OnGuard is a blend containing cinnamon, clove, rosemary, wild orange, and eucalyptus essential oils.
As you can imagine, it smells amazing!
This is a blend you will want to use during seasonal changes, as our bodies purge toxins (also known as cold and flu season).
Here are some ways to use OnGuard:
- Make a cleaning spray to clean the surfaces in your home
- diffuse it to clean the air (and for the amazing Christmassy scent!)
- Make a roller bottle to apply it to the bottoms of your feet, to help support your body during detox
- use it as a hand sanitizer when you don't have access to soap and water

TerraShield Repellent Blend
Say goodbye to stinky, toxic bug spray - say hello to TerraShield!
This updated formula combines Lemongrass, Thyme, Cedarwood, Geranium and Peppermint essential oils, in a sesame seed oil base.
Not only does it help keep pesky insects at bay, it also smells incredible!
ZenGest Digestive Blend
DigestZen is our go-to around here for all things digestive-related.
It contains some amazing oils that help support digestion:
- Peppermint
- Coriander
- Ginger
- Caraway
- Cardamom
- Fennel
- Anise
Ways to Use DigestZen:
- put a drop on your tongue to help soothe an upset tummy
- add a drop to a glass of water and drink it
- dilute it in coconut oil and rub it on your tummy

Essential Oil Accessories
Essential oils are amazingly versatile tools, and I use them in our home every single day.
However, they aren't much good if they're just sitting in the bottle, so there are a few accessories you'll need, to be able to use your essential oils safely and effectively.
Here are my recommendations.
Fractionated Coconut Oil
Fractionated coconut oil (abbreviated as FCO), is perfect for diluting essential oils for safe topical use.
Essential oils should always be diluted before applying to skin (you can learn more about dilution in my Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils).
FCO is not the same as regular coconut oil. Regular coconut oil (like you'd use for cooking, or skin care) will solidify in cool temperatures, whereas FCO stays liquid at all times. That makes it perfect for making your own custom roller bottles.
FCO Pump
Making roller bottles is a lot less messy if you use a pump with your FCO. The tip of your pump fits perfectly inside the rollerbottle, so you can make your custom blends without making a mess.
Empty Roller Bottles
One of the most fun things to do with essential oils, is make custom roller bottle blends.
The nice thing about roller bottles, is they are extremely convenient to use. They contain your choice of essential oils, and they are already diluted in fractionated coconut oil. You just roll it on!
Here are some ideas for roller bottles you can make:
- owie roller
- after bite roller
- pure-fume
- immune support roller
- respiratory support roller
- head tension roller
- muscle aches roller
(PS - when you order essential oils through me, you get my 'I have my oils, now what? starter guide + recipe sheet, which has all my favorite essential oil recipes on it!).
Roller bottles seem to vary wildly in quality. Any that I have ordered from Amazon, or even from essential oil supply companies have leaked like crazy. The rollers are usually plastic, and get 'stuck', so they don't roll well. I once even bought a batch where the rollers didn't even fit on the bottles! And I couldn't return them, so I was stuck with a batch of empty roller bottles with no rollers that would fit on them.
Not only have I been using essential oils for over a decade, but I've also taught essential oil classes for that length of time, and have used many different brands of roller bottles.
When doTERRA finally started selling their own empty roller bottles, I was thrilled, to say the least! These are, hands-down, the best quality roller bottles I've ever used. The glass is thick and uniform, the rollers are stainless steel, and they don't leak.
(There is nothing worse than realizing your essential oil roller bottle leaked all over the inside of your purse).
This 6 pack should get you started!
Empty Spray Bottles
These little spray bottles are super convenient to toss in your purse!
They're perfect for:
- homemade bug spray
- pillow spray
- linen spray
- cooling spray (peppermint oil + water & witch hazel to help cool you down in summer heat!)
These are not glass, they're essential oil-safe plastic, so they're lightweight and break-proof.
They come in a 3 pack.
Bottle Cap Stickers
Trust me, there is nothing more annoying than having to pick up every essential oil bottle, trying to find the one you're looking for.
Cap stickers will save you a lot of time and annoyance! At a glance, you'll be able to grab the oil you're looking for. And they're inexpensive, so there's no reason not to have them.
Continuous Mist Spray Bottles
I love these continuous mist spray bottles for things I want to make a larger quantity of, or for things I want a continuous mist for.
They are fabulous for bug spray and room spray!
These come in a pack of 2.
